I’m Natasha Blake – a London-based nail artist and the founder of Fuego Nails.
Fuego, meaning “fire” in Spanish, is a reflection of my roots and everything my art stands for: strength, purity, and mystery. I created Fuego Nails in 2018 with the dream of making art wearable—something that moves with you, speaks for you, and becomes part of your story.
My love for art began when I was just 12 years old, deeply nurtured by my mother, who is also an artist. Growing up, she taught me not only how to paint, but how to see the world through a creative lens. Even earlier than that, I found myself completely captivated by nail art—fascinated by how such a small canvas could hold so much personality. I was only 8 when that passion started, and it never left.
I followed my passion throughout school that eventually led me to pursue a BA in Fine Arts, where I deepened my practice and began to see nails not just as fashion or beauty, but as a powerful, portable form of artistic expression.
After graduating, I launched Fuego Nails as a way to merge everything I love—fine art, storytelling, and identity—into something tangible and accessible. Within months, the business took off, and I found myself featured in major platforms and working with brands such as Dazed, Office, Refinery29, Converse, Nike, and many more.
That same year, I did my first international artist residency at ISLA Berlin, which completely shifted my trajectory. My fan base grew, my confidence deepened, and soon I was travelling across Lisbon, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and New York, bringing my art to new communities and finding inspiration in the people and cultures I met along the way.
One of the most formative experiences in recent years was living in Mexico for a year. The richness of the culture, the vibrancy of the colours, and the powerful presence of religious iconography left a lasting imprint on me—not only artistically, but spiritually. I found myself deeply moved by how art and faith were so naturally intertwined in everyday life. That experience expanded my own practice, and I began incorporating more symbolism, storytelling, and sacred references into my work.
Fuego Nails isn’t just about beautiful sets—it’s about expression, empowerment, and connection. Whether I’m collaborating with a brand, working one-on-one with a client, or creating faith-inspired sets that speak to the soul, my goal is always the same: to ignite something in people through the art I make.
Today, I’m constantly striving to grow, evolve, and inspire others through my art. Every set I create is a reflection of where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, and how I’ve felt. Frequent exposure to different cultures, textures, traditions, and landscapes has become a huge part of my creative process and I plan to keep creating and inspiring.
